Basic
Household Manners
Train your dog
to live politely in your home. Is your dog jumping up on you
and others? Is he eating your shoes (clothes, toilet paper,
homework, etc.)? Is he chewing on things that don't belong
to him? Does he nip when he plays with you? Does his housetraining
need some sharpening up? These are the kinds of things that
may be addressed in Basic Household Manners. You decide which
behaviors you'd like modified and a session or more will be
tailored to help you manage and find solutions for teaching
your dog the human rules. Sessions are held in your home.
In-home
Basic Training

Private
basic instruction is for people who may be too busy to devote
the 6 weeks it takes to attend structured classes. A customized
program is designed to fit your schedule. This consists of
approximately 4 visits of 60-75 minutes each spaced over a
period of 2 to 4 weeks. This will initiate basic manners and
teach your dog basic cues. You'll learn how to continue the
training on your own. Cues include Watch Me, Sit, Down, Stand,
Off (no jumping up), Stay, Wait, Leave It, Drop It.
In
addition, you will learn the basics of teaching your dog:
how dogs learn, how to let your dog know she got it right,
using life rewards, release words, and how to generalize requests.
You will also learn how to give your dog legal outlets for
instinctive behavior (such as chewing and digging).
Advanced
Training, Tricks and/or Clicker Training

These more advanced
sessions are for those who've mastered the basics and are
ready to take their dog to the next level. A higher level
of adherence to your requests (for example, distance training,
a strong recall, long down-stays) can be mastered. Challenging
and fun, clickers are a fabulously successful tool used to
help you train your dog to do things you'd never dream possible.
Tricks and practical requests, such as how to ring a bell,
close a door, or take a bow, are all within your dog's reach.
Behavior
Problems
This covers
more serious behavior issues (such as leash aggression and
fearfulness) which do not fall into the category of basic
training or household manners.
A history is taken, your goals are identified and solutions
explored. After the initial consultation, you will be provided
with a report written specifically for you and your dog, which
includes a diagnosis and prognosis, a management plan and
a treatment plan. Following the initial consultation, one
or more follow-up meetings may be required to ensure safe
and proper implementation of the plan.
